I always look forward to starting a new month to color. I use it at work, so I color to destress at times.

This is not a mini sized calendar so I can't display both the top and bottom at the same time, which is a shame. At least there are designs on the calendar part as well, so I can see and color those plus the month letters. I like the designs a lot, though, and enjoy coloring it over the month. No flowers like pictured on the cover here, it's just patterns.

A great introduction from very basics to advanced concepts in database management. I only hope that I find the time to read the whole book. My course may need only half or so of the chapters. This book is easy to read and no complicated language, one can speed read this nicely.Excellent chapters on Entity relationship diagrams and concepts. I had studied ERDs before through many sources but this is the best. Included ERDs made as in Visio, Oracle, and some other systems like Sybase and others. for comparison; mainly uses its own notation and MS visio style.SQL examples and concepts are very good also, but the style of the book does no break down the SQL statements and explain them piece by piece, they are ok to understand but some folks might find that further explanation would have been good.The exercises at the end of chapters make on think. I haven't done much of those, but they introduce many problems that one can encounter in DB management.Higly recommended.

This book is written in a very easy to read style. The information is thorough and appropriate technical terms are used but things are kept interesting as you move along. The technical terms are well-explained and plenty of visuals are used to illustrate the concepts. I've had to read my way through some very dry IT textbooks so this was a pleasant surprise.

The authors of this book took an approach that is followed throughout the text. They define the problem abstractly, then eventually get down to business with implementation once they feel they have taught you enough about the concepts. If you are looking for a SQL text look else where. If you are looking for a text that teaches concept then detail, then this is your book. It doesn't get into any real amount of SQL until chapter 7, I believe. The reading itself is very easy to follow. Even though the topic is databases, the authors do have some mild humor.

See, now here is a book with a good story and a writing style that draws you in. I hade recently picked up "The Catcher in The Rye" as I missed it in school, I think maybe our school was one of the ones that banned it. Anyway, I picked up the catcher to see what all the hype was about, I was kind of disappointed. Sorry, I just do not get what all the fuss and fan fair is about. But "Of Mice And Men", This is a great book. One of my favorites, Right behind Robinson Crusoe. \This book looks much like the picture but mine is more worn, has a little wear on the edges of the cover and the pages have that aged tea stained color and it smells old, Just the way I love em. Mine is actually from 1947.

I'm working my way through these books, and always look forward to a new one. They are great for the intermediate crossworder or for when I don't want to think too much. Some are easy, some harder, some just fun. I like that the pages are perforated to tear out so that it is easier to do the puzzles on the left side in the first half, and the puzzles on the right side in the second half. I just wish there were fewer "quote" puzzles.

This review is a work in progress. I have the 1953 book with an introduction by Joseph Henry Jackson. I found the introduction by Mr. Jackson to be very instructive and enjoyable. However it may be for more a student than the casual reader.My book is from The Viking Press. It contains six short novels. They are mostly chronological in the order that John Steinbeck published them. The one exception is that the first short novel in the book is "Tortilla Flat". The second is "The Red Pony". These were composed, I think, in the opposite order. Mr. Jackson explains this. These are followed by "Of Mice and Men", "The Moon Is Down", "Cannery Row", and "The Pearl".I read "The Red Pony First". There is a lot in "The Red Pony" which reminds me "Of Mice and Men". It is episodic. The first episode is "The Gift", which is about a child Jody, and his pony. It is beautiful, poignant, and ultimately painful. The second episode is "The Great Mountains". It actually is about a visitor to the same ranch that is the setting for first story. Jody and his family are in this story, along with an elderly visitor. The next episode is "The Promise" which is, more or less, a sequel to the first story. It is somewhat painful. The last episode is "The Leader of The People" which is a bittersweet story about a senior citizen member of the same family at the ranch. It is my personal favorite episode.I completely enjoyed this novella "Of Mice And Men". It is a relatively short work. It was written in 1937, before The Grapes of Wrath. I had previously read The Grapes of Wrath. I enjoyed this book more. I have very little formal education in regard to literature. So my opinion may be very faulty. Anyway, I felt this work was a more artistic work than The Grapes of Wrath.This work reminded me more of Ermest Hemingway. I was very impressed. As is common with many shorter works, the author leaves a lot of questions unanswered. The reader is left to speculate why certain issues develope and are resolved in certain manners. I felt all the aspects of the relationship between George and Lenny were slightly unclear. The book ended with me wishing I knew more about George. My guess is that is intentional on the part of Mr. Steinbeck.I would like to note that I purchased this "Of Mice and Men" on Kindle and at the same time purchased the audiobook narrated by Gary Sinise. I felt Mr. Sinise was really excellent and I highly recommend the audiobook version as read by Mr. Sinise. Mr. Sinise really added to the pleasure of the reading experience with his very professional performance.

I own most of the Simon & Schuster Mega Crossword Puzzle books ... and this is the most recent one I ordered. Up to now I have thoroughly enjoyed working them ... but I don't recommend buying this book. The puzzles aren't nearly as good as the later issues. Too many big words I never heard of and/or clues that don't make sense ... and the answers in the back of the book are HORRIBLE! They are so tiny it takes a magnifying glass to make them out. (and my eyesight isn't that bad)Thankfully all the other books in this series have been hugely improved over this first one they issued. Buy the rest ... skip this one.

Gary Sinise is the reader, which is a nice touch. I bought this audio for use in my classroom, which saves my voice. While Sinise does a great job, there are some drawbacks for using in the classroom:The CDs are not labeled with chapters and times. I originally thought there would be 2 chapters per cd but once chapter 2 ended, chapter 3 started, so this isn't the case. I can't speak for the other CDs, and perhaps this was a space issue, but a little annoying. In addition, I use the audio in different classes who are sometimes in different parts of the book, and having a Table of Contents sheet inside the box or on each CD would be great. Instead, I have to figure out what number track I have to skip to by stopping and listening if I didn't pay attention before and write down the track or time stamp during the previous reading (this can be easily forgotten if we get sidetracked or if I have to divert my attention elsewhere, which, with over 25 kids in a class, happens all the time).Sinise does a nice job lending voice to the different characters but some students find his narration boring (teenagers!), but that's subjective. He maintains an calm, monotone voice throughout the reading.Overall, if you're buying this for personal use than I would definitely recommend it; however, if you're a teacher than you may have the same issues I do. Not a deal breaker, but annoying that Penguin did not include something I thought was a given.

Cannery Row by John SteinbeckI guess I never realized how much writing technique has changed over the years. This book make me understand the difference between then and now. It is all about a bunch of misplaced men making do with what little they have and being happy, not drowning in sorrow. Helping each other even if not totally understanding that other person. I enjoyed the book and recommend it for non-mystery readers.

He is reprimanded and drug home, but the next night he's still bored so he repeats the antics for more laughs. The village folk are even less amused. The third night Ion goes out exploring...and well, things go a little differently.This is a retelling of Aesop's The Boy Who Cried Wolf fable with it's own little twists. If you're worried about this being creepy, don't be. This doesn't quite take the turn I expected. Suffice to say it is a happier ending than the original. Recommended read for practicing making and revising predictions, fable units, and reluctant readers.Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. No violence or spookiness.

A very comprehensive book that should be in the library of every serious filmmaker. The author knows his stuff and shares it in a way where anyone can understand and go out in search of financing for film.

This is basically just a list of ways to finance a film. Each method is listed with advantages and disadvantages, most of which you could easily discern for yourself. If you are looking for something that reveals some insider secret to financing your film, this is not it. Does give some informative terminology, but nothing you couldn't find in any number of other books. If you are new to the business, I recommend something a little more in depth, even producer production notes will be more helpful. If you're a pro, this will give you no new insight.

The book does has some useful tidbits here and there, but all in all it's asking price (when I bought it for $35) was grossly excessive, particularly its legal section. If its not on discount (<$10) don't bother.

I've gone through this book from cover to cover and find it invaluable. Mr. Cones is very thorough in has coverage and assessment of the different ways to finance a film. He explains securities, as well as non-securities financing on a level that is appealing to both the beginner, as well as established film makers. In addition, he explains the popular business structures and how they can benefit your film. Most important, Mr. Cones writes with ethical candor. He tells you about some of the schemes that go on in Hollywood and gives you advice on what to avoid. Do yourself a favor, go out and buy this book!

This is the best book in the business on how to finance an independent film. It is filled with all of the creative alternative ways to raise money legally to produce your own movie. Especially helpful are the legal methods for legally avoiding stringent securities laws, such as upon formation of a new company. Cones is the expert in this area. This book applies to all types of capital formation for all businesses, not just the film business. I often recommend it to my own clients who are seeking to raise funds for a business, even if it is not in the film business. I highly recommend this seminal guide to raising financing and navigating the complicated shoals of the securities laws.

I love it!

How helpful this book is depends on how "green" you are about the film industry. Those with little to no knowledge about film production will find the book resourceful, informative and very "to-the-point" about the different types of financing available. The advantage/disadvantage sections are especially concise--it's always good to see both sides when it comes to deals potentially worth millions. The "further reading" sections at the end of chapter are also handy, if you want to do extra research on your own.For those who are experienced film producers (or even those who have finished rigorous film producing and/or entertainment business academic programs, such as myself), the information may repeat many things you already know. Many of the strategies in this book I've learned about in producing classes and film financing seminars--and I'm just starting my career. So I'm sure that some seasoned producers may think this book is reinventing the wheel. However, I did think that the sections dealing with the different securities and corporation options were very informative as far as how they impact your tax status, the difference between active and passive investors, how your autonomy as a filmmaker/producer may be affected, etc. It breaks down a lot of tax legalese into layman's terms.Overall, I recommend the book--as a primer for new producers and students, and as a great reference guide to those with experience.

Mr. Cones has put together an excellent resource for indie filmmakers. My lawyer recommended his work to me, as he's already laid out the difficulties and intricacies of financing a film, and it's a lot cheaper (per hour) to read the book than to have my lawyer explain it to me. At times, it's daunting...but that's the nature of the material. Plus, you can skip to the relevant section of funding that works for your particular project.

The wedding is off, but the honeymoon's still on, with a different guy who has the same name as the groom. On the trip, Holly has revelations, she was flabbergasted by same-name Nathan, and realizes she can care a lot about the original Nathan's friend and business partner, Logan. Only thing wrong with this book is she left me hanging on the Holly and Logan situation. I really hope there's a follow-up book for them!!

This book is so sweet and witty. I absolutely love the main character, Holly's group of friends, especially Thomas. I've never loved a male character in a book who wasn't a romantic interest more. Her work team is also hilarious. I enjoy a book that has a varied cast of characters and enough suspense to keep me guessing. I was rooting for Holly the whole time as she steps beyond her comfort zone and sees what's been in front of her face the whole time.

This book is one of my faves of Becky Monson's! I'd recommend this to anyone that's looking for a sweet clean romance that is full of humor.

I thought initially that there was a lot of background into the other characters of this book. As I finished the book,I finally understood. The author is giving us another series WOOHOO. I love how the characters self reflection in these stories always gets me thinking about my own life. Another great job,and I can't wait to read Quinn's book.

One thing my Father always said to me was sometimes when you struggle you have to stop struggling to get what you want. Holly struggled with everything. Her break up with Nathan, her obsession with planners, her team that she leads and endless advice from her friends. This is a great story, finding out how she stops struggling to get what she didn't know she wanted.

I love the humor and how I can relate this book to my life. I cant put Becky's books down once I start them!

I loved these characters and didnt want the book to end. For tge first time in a long time i could truely relate to the heroine. And the cast of supporting characters were really great as well. Can't wait for the next book!

I really liked the characters in this book! At one point I couldn't put it down! If you like romantic comedy, this one is for you!
