I am NOT a reader. I can read fine, just don't enjoy it much. However, "Journey of Desire" led me on a journey into my own heart, history, and identity that created a hunger to read more each day.Chapter 11 was a very revealing chapter for me, and one I knew I would need to reread many times as I continued to walk out my daily adventure with the Father.

I enjoyed this book but its rather uneven. Eldridge tries almost too hard to avoid how-to's, making his message muddled at times. But regardless of that, he beings a useful and refreshing perspective to the questions of passions and desire in the context of Christian discipleship: stating that passion and desire are at the heart of true discipleship.

This was a very illuminating book for me. I only wish in my old age that I could remember all the wisdom found in this book. Be sure and read the Sacred Romance before you read this one.

This is an amazing book! John Eldrige just writes in an easy to relate and understanding way. Our heart matters to God. We tend to squash our real deep down desires as life takes a toll on us over time, this helps go after them again with the help of God!

William Goldman is a screenwriting legend, and for good reason. He has written a number of enduring classics, scripts that hold up even decades later. But the real value of this book lays in his candor. He doesn't mince words. He gives his honest appraisal of his career and Hollywood in general throughout. And from someone who works in an industry that is renowned for being egotistical and self-involved, Goldman's voice is absolutely refreshing. And remarkably, his observations from the film industry of almost 35 years ago are still relevant today. It makes you wonder, does Hollywood ever change? In any event, if you are an aspiring screenwriter or no, Adventures in the Screen Trade will entertain and inspire you. Thanks William Goldman.

Lots of typos, which author even mentions he never reads his work again after he writes it. Maybe not good advice! While overall a great look into making movies and writing movies (which I’ve done as well, so I know a lot about what he says), he has occasional lapses that just aren’t accurate like assuming in 1982 people were sick of Star Wars and over it. Hahahaha couldn’t be further off than that! Or the implication that people who don’t have kids are gay, basically. Maybe that was true 100 years ago I don’t know but many people don’t ever want kids. I found his Hollywood insights great and had no interest in any of his other opinions.

If you love the Princess Bride, you love his work. He wrote the book and the screenplay. Both are excellent, although fewer people have read the book. Seeing how he consolidated the story is fascinating. He cut out the fat and made it a different story. He candidly tells the audience about his mistakes and the times he was fired. He had far from a perfect career, and he's a better man for it.

Good book that reflects Goldman's experience as a screenwriter. The book is padded though with material that isn't really needed. Presently the book is out of date and reflects a context that has changed in Hollywood and the films of this age.I did learn that you had to be very politic to be a successful screenwriter. I'm sure this is still a skill that screenwriters must have in spades.

The book runs almost six-hundred pages and I devoured it in just a couple of days.William Goldman is one of most respected screenwriters alive; he knows as much about it as anyone. What he gives us is a picture of Hollywood (the business and who does what), the art of writing a screenplay, the process of working on a film, and his own personal anecdotes. One of the chief pleasures of the book is how cheerfully gossipy it is. "PART ONE: HOLLYWOOD REALITIES" is full of stories of the excesses of Hollywood that people out there consider normal. A lot of the time he doesn't supply names, but sometimes he does. (Dustin Hoffman, while a brilliant actor, is notorious for being a bit eccentric.) He also gives us an idea of how the studio works and how pictures get made.The last third of the book will primarily interest serious film students. Goldman includes his entire script for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and uses it as a teaching tool. I have been using this book for awhile since it was purchased months ago. I have been trying to download it again because it simply quit working. The major​ downside is the lack of an antiquate index - not much tolerance for shopping around for what interests ME but otherwise a fairly complete examination of 6 in the order the author thinks best :-)..Very good explanation.

Can't say enough good about this book. An ABSOLUTE NECESSITY if you're new to critical care. New nurse or already a nurse going back into critical care. Don't let the cheesy title fool you. It covers all of the physiology behind each learning objective and includes nursing considerations. It explains the rational for each type of monitoring and different types of catheters. Especially great if you're a visual learner like me. Even if you aren't visual learning helps you retain more and understand material much better. This book contains so many great pictures after each learning section such as how to zero the line transducer and what the different lines look like and how to use them. I highly recommend this book. It's concise to the point but doesn't leave anything out. I am an RN returning to cardiovascular critical care after a long time off. I feel this book will more than adequately prepare me to perform on the job.

I can't over emphasize how great this book is for a visual learner. It isn't going to expand your knowledge base if you already understand hemodynamics in a functional capacity, but for visual learners it is a great tool and reference.

I highly recommend all of the Made Incredibly Visual books! These books have helped me a lot during nursing school as I am a visual learner. The information given is in a condensed form. This helped me focused on what was important and would likely be on nursing class exams. I did skim through my 1,500 plus page med-surg book, but the Made Incredibly Visual books helped narrowing down high volume testable items which allowed me to save time. This book did arrive on time. Need more time in nursing school....then buy this book.
